FRAGILE, SHE DOESN'T SEE HER BEAUTY s h e t r i e s t o g e t a w a y[/i] IT'S JUST THAT NOTHING SEEMS WORTH SAVING i c a n t w a t c h h e r s l i p a w a y [/font] A nervous half-smile twitched on Becca's lips as she sat in front of her vanity in her bedroom. A black lamp shone light onto her pale features as she meticulously applied a set of false eyelashes. Her fingers shook so badly it took her three tries to get them straight. As she waited for them to dry she took a shaky breath and hoped she wouldn't have an anxiety attack tonight. Her mother had offered to give her half of a Valium (prescribed by Becca's shrink for severe anxiety episodes) but she declined, wanting to try to be brave for Demetri tonight. After the false lashes dried she stood up and walked to her bed, staring down at the white dress with black, floral trim she'd picked for tonight. She wanted to wear something other than black for Homecoming and her mother had nearly peed herself she was so excited. It wasn't often Becca wore anything other than black, and given tonight was so special her mother happily obliged to the semi-expensive dress. She slipped on the dress and looked at herself in the mirror. An audible gasp spilled from her lips as she took in everything. From the beautiful, white dress to her lace heels to the way her mother had fixed her hair up with a delicate hair comb, she looked all the part of an ethereal fairy princess.
She quickly slicked on some black lipstick and headed out into the hallway, hearing the spill of giggles from her sister's room where she and some Plastics were getting ready. Becca brushed one of the loose locks of hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear as she turned the corner to go down the steps. Almost as soon as her feet hit the top steps she was assaulted by camera flashes. She gripped the railing to keep from stumbling as her vision cleared, then gave a pointed, annoyed glare at her mother. Her anger melted though when she saw the look on her dad's face. A big grin was on his lips and she beamed right back, quickly coming down the stairs and hugging him. He murmured how beautiful she looked and she blushed happily. After another round of pictures Becca grabbed the keys to her hearse and headed for the dance.
The Homecoming dance was packed when she arrived and loud noises vollied for her attention with the loud music. With a soft whimper she sat in the seat of her hearse with a panicked look on her face. She tried to do the deep breathing exercises she had been taught by her therapist but they weren't seeming to work. Finally, after sitting in her car for a good ten minutes she grabbed the half of a Valium from her purse and popped it in her mouth, swallowing it delicately with a sip of the blue cream soda in her car. She quickly reapplied her lipstick and got out of the car, the Valium kicking in rather quickly. A few shaky breaths later she half-stumbled across the parking lot (damn heels!) and headed inside. It didn't take her long to spot Demetri, sitting in the corner with that nervous smirk he had. And god did he look handsome! She blushed slightly as she wove her way through the crowd.
"Demetri," She half-whispered as she leaned over and hugged him, straightening up and blushing, "You look so handsome!"

Unless it was something pertaining Becca, he usually didn't feel the need to even talk most of the time. Tonight though, tonight he was sweating worse than a sinner in church. His nerves were shot, and it seemed like everyone was pissing him off. He had been worried about tonight, prom night. He wanted oh so desperately to make it the best night of Becca's, and his, high school life.
Demetri had grown a pair and decided to ask Becca to prom. Though when he asked he hadn't meant it in a friendly way, he honestly liked Becca, and had came to terms that he did. It was impossible for him not to, she was beautiful, and sweet, and every time he saw her smile his whole day was brightened. Of course he loved her, he always had and always would. Demetri would not spend hours getting dressed for any other girl in school. Even if he was feminine guy, he usually didn't fret about how he appeared to anyone but Becca most of the time. He secretly liked to impress her.
When Demetri did arrive at the homecoming dance, it didn't take long for him to start feeling awkward. It was loud, the gym smelled like polish, and the swarm of bodies was making it hot. He didn't see Becca, so he went ahead and found him a spot to sit. Funny enough it was in the corner of the gym, but at least the corner was his and he didn't have to share it with anyone. Not to mention he had a good view of the gyms entrance, so it was better than anything. So he waited, a nervous e smirk playing on his lips the longer he waited.
It felt like an hour, but it was only a matter of minutes before he saw Becca parting her way through the crowd. He almost didn't recognize her, she was wearing a white dress, and heels, and, she was gorgeous. The sight of her had evidently taken his breath away. Demetri was pretty stunned, and he forgot to stand. He felt a twinge of guilt she she leaned over to hug him, because it would have been more gentlemanly of him to have to stood, but oh well it was to late now. He chuckled at her compliment, he was not one meant for praise tonight. "And you look positively stunning, Becca. " He said in reply, smiling. | [atrb=width,140]words ,### words tagged ,Becca! outfit , | [cs=2] |

FRAGILE, SHE DOESN'T SEE HER BEAUTY s h e t r i e s t o g e t a w a y[/i] IT'S JUST THAT NOTHING SEEMS WORTH SAVING i c a n t w a t c h h e r s l i p a w a y [/font] To say Becca was nervous was a terrible understatement. Even after taking half a Valium her heartbeat pounded in her head and there was a rushing noise in her ears. As she did her best to control her breathing she tried to ignore the shocked and curious looks from the other students as she timidly shifted through the crowd. She let a soft noise escape her as her eyes found Demetri. Again it was all she could do not to run over and throw herself into his arms, seeking the protective feeling she only managed to find there. Shyly she brushed a lock of hair behind her ear and wove her way across the last of the students blocking her way, her eyes on the floor and an almost defeated bow to her shoulders. It was obvious she was uncomfortable being here, but her therapist had insisted she go, finding it a good 'force therapy' experience for her. She looked up as she got to where Demetri was and her eyes widened slightly. He looked so handsome!
Her voice was quiet and her stutter was present as she said exuse me to someone who bumped into her. She was already shifting slightly as she brushed that lock of hair from her face again. Her black hair, stark black lipstick, and her smoky eyes paired with the white dress made her look almost comical in comparison to the various Barbie wannabes in their puffy, pastel dresses. It wasn't as though Becca had a problem with standing out, she did it every day of her life in fact, but tonight she kind of wished she'd gone with something that didn't single her out quiet so much. As she tried to ignore the butterflies in her stomach as Demetri complimented her, the fates apparently had another idea. As quickly as she was about to say thank you the DJ announced there would be a slow dance and to 'grab your sweetie and get to the floor'. Becca blushed in the darkened gym as a sappy, romantic song came on. She looked at the floor, wondering if Demetri would ask her to dance or not. That was when she noticed the corsage in his hand. Her eyes brightened and a big smile broke across her lips.
"D-Dems, d-did you ge-get that for m-me?" Her tone was shocked as she smiled at him again.
She knew it was quite a stupid question to ask, but she couldn't help it. It was the most gorgeous corsage she'd ever seen. And given it was a black rose, her favorite, she felt tears prick at her eyes. It was then she realized that Demetri was trying to be romantic. Trying to bring her a corsage and doing his best to make her feel so loved and cared about. It made the gym spin and her brain frazzle. She never thought he-- never dreamt in any way he felt that way about her. And with a quiet oh she looked up at him and gave him one of those rare smiles. She looked down, her long lashes brushing the tops of her cheeks, and smiled.
"Demetri, you didn't have to do that," She said softly as a lone tear rolled down her cheek, "Y-you don't know how much t-this m-means."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: #423c42;,true][cs=2] I WONT LET YOU FALL APART WE WILL FIND THE PERFECT PLACE TO GORUN AND HIDE AWAY I WILL BUILD A WALL AND KEEP THEM ON THE OTHER SIDEBUT THEY KEEP WAITING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - fragile | [atrb=width,240] It was funny ho easy he had forgotten something. Demetri could hardly remember any of the things he had promised to say or do now, he was so impressed by her beauty. Becca was always stunning, but tonight her beauty was by far more than he had ever seen it. He loved it, the way that the dress flattered her in all the right places but wasn't like those of the other girls. He had always liked how she stood out of a crowd, like well, a dark angel of sorts.
Oh yes, the corsage he had forgotten about it. He had spent hours looking for the perfect flower to get her. Black was obviously the best choice, but not every store in town died their flowers for people. So it had taken some time, and money, to find the right one for her. Though he didn't mind spending an extra amount of money on Becca, it was just like Demetri to want to pamper the people he loved the best. And if you asked him, he it would tell you that Becca deserved the best and whatever she wanted. "Oh um yes, its yours." He said quite simply, thinking it was funny she would even have to ask. He gingerly took her hand and slipped it on her wrist.
Noticing the change of song and the people swaying on the dance floor, Demetri took this as an opportunity. His heart warmed as she gave him one of here rare, and genuine smiles. He sort of wasn't shocked to see that tear rolling down her cheek, but it still sort of did shock Demetri. "Of course I had to, you don't get to have a prom every year of your life." Without another word, since time was the enemy was here, Demetri took a step back and bowed gracefully. "And now Ms. Faythe, would you give me the honor of one dance with me?" He asked, holding out his arm for her to take.

IF I COULD MAKE THE WORLD AS p u r e a n d s t r a n g e a s w h a t i s e e[/i] I'D PUT YOU IN THE MIRROR I PUT IN FRONT OF ME l i n g e r o n y o u r p a l e b l u e e y e s [/font] As soon as her pale, thin arms wrapped around Demetri in a hug and she stood near him she immediately felt safer. Her lips curled into a warm smile and her blue eyes seemed even brighter in her excitement. Though she was often depressed and often toyed with the thought of death, Demetri made all those feelings disappear. She felt her face turn a shade of pink as she stood, unable to form words. She couldn't believe how handsome he looked decked out in his tux. She knew they made an unsual couple. Becca in her gothic bride-esque dress and Demetri in his tux. Becca's arms healing of bruises from the bullying she recieved and her heavy-handed makeup hiding a black eye paired with tall, model-good-looking Demetri in his gothic eyeliner. They weren't quite unlike Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. An avenging, macabre angel and the mortal she falls for, loses her religion for.
When Demetri stood up and slipped the corsage over her wrist something inside of her stirred to life. Without a second thought she took his hand. It nearly covered her delicately, smaller one. There were some rough callouses on his fingers from playing guitar, but otherwise it was smooth. Whether it was her inhibitions slightly lowered from the medication she took, or if it was just something that had always been there, but it felt... right. She laced her fingers through his and was shocked at how perfectly they fit there. She did the same with his other hand until they were standing only a few feet apart with both hands laced. She felt something catch in her throat and a tug in her chest. This was just too perfect. An unsual smile took the place of the awkward one she wore. She quickly let go and blushed a deep, beet red.
He seemed to realize they should dance about the same time she did and he asked her to dance, offering his arm. Becca gently took his arm and followed him out to the dance floor. She awkwardly put her palms flat on his chest since he towered over her, and felt his hands on her waist. As they danced the world seemed to melt away around them and it was only the music and two souls dancing together. She didn't realize at first that she'd moved so close until the fabric of his tux jacket brushed against her dress. She didn't bother to move away and turned her eyes up to look straight into his. She opened her mouth to say something but ultimately thought better of it. She closed her eyes and finally looked at Demetri then to his mouth, raising up on her tip toes to kiss his lips. It was quick and fast and completely unlike Becca, but the brief second she felt her lips touch his she felt complete.... more complete then she had ever been. She took his hands in hers again and smiled.
"D-Demetri.. I-I am glad yo-you asked me to the d-da-dance. I h-haven't... I haven't felt this way about any-anyone. I-I like you, Demetri... a lot." Once she got it out there was no going back from it, but she meant it. She was feeling something for him she'd never felt for anyone else before.
