& WE'LL RUN WHERE LIGHT'S WON'T CHASE US b r e a t h i n g y o u i n w h e n I w a n t y o u o u t Nivek had all but forgotten about the Homecoming dance till his best friend had called and woken him up. He wasn't one to go back on a promise, and a promise to go with Enver to find hot girls was something he'd made a few weeks prior. With a quiet yawn he stretched and grabbed his glasses from the side table. All co-ed dorms had a small, attached TV room where he heard the distinctive noises of Spongebob trailing off. Nivek got to his feet and slipped a shirt on over his head before padded into the TV room and spotting Arwen curled up on the couch with a bowl of cereal, her eyes transfixed on the TV. He laughed softly, shaking his head as he made his own bowl of cereal and joined her on the couch. She leaned against him, a habit she'd had since they were kids, and he looped one arm around her shoulder fondly. It had been a tooth and claw fight to get them placed in the same room, especially given Freshman weren't typically allowed co-ed dorms. But in the end the Dean had allowed it given the sibling's history.
"Is this the one about the chocolate bars?" Nivek asked as he took a bite of cereal.
His sister nodded silently beside him and took a bite of some multi-colored sugary cereal that made a rainbow out of the milk. He worried about her... a lot more than he should. But Arwen was so innocent and child-like and so full of fear that it made it hard for him to not worry about her unless he was high. And recently he'd become paranoid when he was high about Arwen. The little freshman curled up beside him was his entire life and always would be. Even if she grew up, got a little better, and had a family he'd be there on the fringes waiting for her to need him again. She always needed him to protect her, even when they were just kids she needed him. And he craved that need, that someone loved him and depended on him, like he did air.
"I was thinking of going to Homecoming tonight, Ar. Would you be okay by yourself?" He asked after a few minutes of silence.
Arwen nodded again and smoothed his messy, long, black hair down. He leaned over and kissed her temple before getting up and taking their bowls to the sink on the one lone cabinet section they had. As he washed them he glanced up and saw Arwen watching the TV with all the fascination of a six year old, and he knew she'd never stop needing him.
Several hours later he was prepping to go to the dance as a bottle of pills fell out of his pocket. Picking them up he popped open the bottle of anti-anxiety meds and took several of them. After which he found one, small baggie of coke hidden in his room and 'got rid' of it. Within fifteen minutes he was feeling like he was floating. He threw on a pair of black skinnies and a longsleeve black shirt. After styling his undercut hair out of his face he slipped on a couple of wristbands and his Supras. He smoked a cigarette through the window of his dorm before headed downstairs and to the gym.
By the time he made it down there the world was spinning in happy colors, and the music was throbbing all the way to his soul. He stumbled slightly before he made his way across the gym to where the other Burnouts were hanging out. His eyes never stopped scanning for Enver in the crowd as he laid back on his elbows on the bleachers. He sighed softly as he caught the eyes of one of the other Burnouts, his signature lopsided, flirty smirk gracing his pasty features as he nodded to her.

Jordyn had been dared to go to the school's homecoming dance by a few of her friends, and as always, Jordy never ever says no to any bet. As she slipped on her skinny jeans, and put a tshirt that said 'COOL STORY, BRO', she sighed looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was down, and straightened, and for once looked good. Her eyes looked like they were in a different place, as she was already baked from smoking. She quickly slipped into her shoes, and grabbed her cell phone on the way out her room.
She made her way out of her room, stumbling over things on her way out. She finally made it to her door, before exiting she grabbed her cellphone. Jordyn hated school functions, but this dare was something that excited her actually. Plus, Jordyn was high of off her ass, so what the hell. She would just laugh at everyone, and anything at that point when she got there. She moved down the stairs, heading for the door. The gym wasn't that far away from her dorm room, which was sort of cool jordyn assumed. Most girls would kill for this position, but jordyn just never cared for school functions.
Jordyn made her way into the gym, and all the way near the other burnouts that decided to join this shitty school function. She sighed, and sat down on the bleachers. Again, why the school decided to keep them out during this was behind her mind. But, she was so high that she didn't care. Her eyes scanned the group, and soon fell on a guy that seemed to be in the same position; not caring about this dance. She smiled, and then looked away lightly from this guy. Jordyn was too high off her ass to even keep focus.

& WE'LL RUN WHERE LIGHT'S WON'T CHASE US b r e a t h i n g y o u i n w h e n I w a n t y o u o u t By the time the rest of the crowd really started showing up the coke and anxiety pills had worked their way into Nivek's system. He stood with his crowd of addicts and Burnouts watching the crowd through his thick glasses. The beat was good, but not particularly his thing. He was almost half-tempted to go up and ask the DJ to take a break and let him spin, but he knew the school wouldn't like that, plus he'd forgotten all his equipment at the dorm. At this point he wasn't sure if he made it up the steps if he could make it back down without falling on his ass, so he just tried to enjoy the loud, poptart crap coming through the speakers. He yawned slightly out of boredom before his eyes caught Princess, his friend, smirking at him. He knew that smirk anywhere, she wanted him in her bed by the end of the night. Though he wasn't sure if he'd end up there or not, he winked back and that appeared to be enough to appease her.
When Nivek's eyes caught the pretty brunette that wandered in he recognized the far-away look of a drug-induced glaze in her eyes. He quietly stood up from his spot on the floor and waltzed over to her, throwing an arm loosely over her shoulder. Giving her his most charming smile he did his best to focus on her. Though his brain was fuzzy and his voice sounded a thousand miles away, underwater almost, he managed to get a sentence out.
"Why don't we dance, sweetheart?"
His voice held just the edge of a drunken slur. He slipped his hand down to her waist and winked at her, at least he hoped he winked. He was ready for some fun, not sitting around a boring dance waiting for something interesting to happen. As the worst of the 'drunk' feeling wore off he began to feel a little more excited and a little less inebriated. He was going to try to win this girl over. Nivek texted Enver to bring him his DJ 'kit' from the house. And it seemed not long after Enver was showing up holding the duffle bag. Nivek quickly jogged up to the DJ booth, ignoring Enver's pleas to stop. And he pulled $300 out of his pocket, telling the DJ he'd take over for the rest of the night. As the drunk feeling wore off it was replaced with an immense amount of energy and a need to liven up the boring party. He slipped up on the DJ booth and cut the music, swearing and shouts coming from the audience. With nimble fingers he quickly had his Macbook Pro set up and started some of his techno music thrumming through the speakers, the kids slowly feeling the beat until they all began dancing. It was like the gym had turned into the best techno fest in New England in a matter of minutes. He gestured to the pretty girl he'd spotted earlier, wanting her to come dance with him.[/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS; 527 NOTES; None TAGGED; Jordyn/Brig & 1 Open OUTFIT; CLICK LYRICS; Spectrum by Zedd TEMPLATE BY; Me/Ren
