IT'S WINGS, AFFECTING ALMOST EVERYTHING.

Rhine was now seven and a half months pregnant. The prospect of giving birth in two months both relieved and terrified her. She was as big as a house now and was no longer able to really get around very well, even going so far as asking the dean for pregnancy leave at the end of the month. Right now she was barely waddling around as she headed down the hallway from her last class of the day. Damn Corren and his damn sperm. Why the hell had she gotten drunk and slept with the little peon? Anger flashed through her that was quickly replaced by sadness and it was all she could do not to cry. Her mood swings lately had been so severe these last couple of weeks that her brother had begun isolating himself to the school’s lab and Corren had been spending a lot more time in the sewing room.
The school had wanted to accommodate Rhine while she finished her studies and had given her a teacher’s apartment which she was currently sharing with Corren and Rhett. She was working double time to finish her credits so she could either graduate early or be ahead for next year. Because she would not drop out. The word had never once come to mind as an option, just as nothing other than keeping the little girl and little boy growing in her belly was an option. She would raise these children and be the best mother she could be. She puffed out an annoyed sigh as she waddled down the hallway towards the exit. Ah, why had she not worn real shoes? Did Converse count as real shoes? Hell, the school should count themselves lucky she bothered wearing shoes given someone had to tie them for her. She grumbled under her breath, swearing in what was probably German, as she stormed down the last flight of steps.
She headed towards to door and was exhausted by the time she’d made it halfway there from the steps. She couldn’t do it; there was zero way she’d make it without a break. Huffing and puffing she headed into the café and plopped down at a table. Giving a groan she let her forehead thud onto the table and suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable. She was massive by now, and was pretty sure she’d need an “Oversized Load” sign to tape to her backside if she went to full 9 months. She shifted and curled up with her head at an awkward angle on the palm of her hand long enough to catch her breath. Then she got up and waddled to the line where she bought herself water and some cookies. Six cookies to be exact, although she’d done so well with being healthy this whole pregnancy that she figured a few cookies wouldn’t hurt. Plus she’d been absolutely craving chocolate for a week now. As she ate the cookies and sipped on her water she pulled her phone from her backpack and slid it open to text Corren. Maybe he’d come get her and take her to lunch. She didn’t realize how hungry just walking had made her. ’Cor, can you come to the cafeteria and roll me home? I’m too tired to walk! D:’ And sent. Now all she had to do was wait on the father of the kids in her tummy to finally show up. She also needed to talk baby names with him since they hadn’t settled on anything yet.
