Megan loved Halloween, she loved dressing up in a costume, she loved all the decorations, and she loved trick or treating and getting candy even though people seemed to think she was far too old. She liked to believe you were never too old to trick or treat and she wanted to hold on to her childhood while she still had the chance too, so she was going to go trick or treating if her life depended on it. The only problem was she hated going all alone, it just wasn’t as fun, and people tended to look at you weird when you were walking around all alone. The only problem was it seemed that all of Megan’s friends were busy tonight, which was really almost depressing as she went through her phone trying to text people to see if anyone was free.
As she went through her phone thinking she frowned, it seemed that no one wanted to hang out with her tonight to go trick or treating and she was honestly getting pretty disheartened at that. It just meant that she had to try even harder in finding someone to go out trick or treating with her, because there was no way she was going alone and she had already gotten all dressed up in her costume. She even went as far as going her hair, and that had taken her an hour to do and it wasn’t going to just go to waste. She was going to go trick or treating if her life depended on it and as she thought about it, she knew the perfect person to drag along with her, Dominic and she grinned as she pulled on her pair of white shoes.
She just had to go over to his dorm now, and as she headed there she skipped humming to herself. Dominic was actually a newer friend of hers, but she really liked having him around and he was much like a teddy bear she liked to hug even if he did smell like pot. She wasn’t one to judge, and that didn’t change that he seemed like a nice person and she liked being friends with him. Arriving at his door she took a deep breath and knocked, she actually looked really pretty in her costume and she really hoped she could talk Dominic into going out trick or treating with her without breaking out the tears. The tears always seemed to be her secret weapon, and as an actress she could totally cry at will.

I've been smoking cigarettes since I was fourteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. I've been smoking the green since nearly sixteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. Dominic was letting his day go to waste, like he usually did. Today he was working on being sober though, because the cigarettes that were suppose to last him all week were already gone and the last bit of marijuana he had been looted from him, thanks to that one "friend" who was apparently more desperate then Dominic thought. But if someone needed it badly enough to to steal it, they probably needed it way more than he did, so he wasn't that angry anymore. But after cleaning out his whole dorm in search of money and turning up empty, he was feeling pretty agitated. So it looked like he would be sober until he got paid the following Friday, which would take forever at the rate his day was going.
He tried to sleep as long as possible, but he only slept in till eleven. After that he played around on his guitar, messing around with new rhythms and lyrics he had meant to work on for the past month. It was mostly writers block, but now Dominic was having more muse for the song. About four hours later he finished the whole song and his finger tips ached from all the picking and strumming he had been doing. Another thing he had meant to do was find all his guitar picks, because he could have sworn he had a whole tote full of them. But each time he played he lost one, so he was very out of luck.
Setting his guitar back on its stand, Dominic took out an old photo album from home and propped up on his bed to look through it. The pictures had no real order to them. In one he might be five and in the next he could fourteen. His mother had always been horrible at keeping photos. But memories were memories, and Dominic could almost remember the story behind each one. It was very rare that his mother had been able to afford to go and develop photos, so when they were taken it was either the sample photos from school, or a very important picture indeed. Dominic passed out with the album in his arms within minutes.
Not even thirty minutes later he was startled awake by someone knocking. He stumbled out of his bed to answer it, very shocked to see Megan at his door. "Oh hey Megan," he said, yawning. He noticed the costume right away, she looked really pretty too. Maybe that's what shocked him the most. "So have I like, died and are you coming to take me to heaven? Because if so I need a minute to call my mother."

Megan on the other hand was just simply a nice girl who didn’t seem to mean any harm to anyone and in a way that was the truth. Megan really was merely just a sweet girl if not even a little innocent, but at only fourteen years old it wasn’t a surprise that she was this way. She was only still trying to figure things out in her life, and she wasn’t one for big changes right away and enjoyed thinking things out before really doing anything to save herself from risk of anything going on. It was just the smart thing to do, and something that always happened with her. Megan had her own way of living and it was a way of living that she made it known to live by and she hated having to do anything really different, it just wasn’t her style.
Sure it seemed to some people that she was the type to play it a little safe, but she really didn’t want to do the wrong thing or something that she would regret so she tried to do what she thought was the right thing to do even if it seemed like something silly. She always was one to follow the better safe than sorry rule of life and it was a good thing in some ways too, when everyone else were taking risks that seemed just utterly stupid she was there able to resist and save herself from getting hurt. Sure it was obviously hard sometimes, but it wasn’t like there was really much else that she could actually do. She thought it was dumb to do reckless things, that could get you hurt that is and she tried to avoid it the best that she could. Sure there were some things that had happened in the past, but the past was the past.
Megan liked to also believe that she had a pretty strange family, it was pretty big and that was obvious when you took a minute to see all the members in it, but she supposed that really didn’t seem to matter. She loved her family and that was the most important thing when it come down to it, it was her family and she couldn’t go and pick it. That was just silly, and sure she was the shier type and a total sweetie but she didn’t think that matter much. She was merely just Megan and that was all she could ever be, she liked being Megan too. It was fun just being Megan, and she wasn’t going to try and change that.
When Dominic opened the door, she noted first that she had probably woke him up and frowned. “I’m sorry for waking you” she said with a small smile when he yawned, honestly she noted that he had a really cute yawn though. “I just was really bored, and all my other friends were too busy to do anything with me” she looked down, to add to the effect of her sadness. She just didn’t want to go out and go trick or treating alone, “I wanted to go trick or treating too, I just don’t like going alone because someone like me. I could get kidnapped” she whispered. “But you know, if you want me to be an angel, I can be that too” she quickly added.

I've been smoking cigarettes since I was fourteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. I've been smoking the green since nearly sixteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. In all honesty, Dominic was going absolutely no where with his life and he knew it too. Many people weren't exactly hopeful about hiring a stoner, and so his job at a local gas station wasn't really the best, but he got paid enough to buy his stuff. Living in a house as poor as his was, he learned how to stretch even the smallest amount of money. He was sort of a cheap-sake, but it only made since that he was, after all. But its not like Dominic was ever really bothered by his poor family. He wasn't ever one for sports, or after school activities, and school field trips were never fun with such strict regulations anyways. He always felt bad for asking his mother for money, because he knew she would do everything in her power to get the money, even if meant selling herself on the streets-it had happened once- which Dominic was not going to let happen again. It was to pitiful.
Dominic had no qualms about hanging out with Megan, she was really cool and quite frankly she was very pretty. But then again it was very rare for people to approach the guy who usually sat alone outside and smelt of pot at all times, even if he was typically pretty nice and always open for a chat. If you were nice to him, he was nice to you. It was that simple. But alas, people were so quick to judge and they didn't even care about that. He was just so shocked that someone as innocent as Megan would want to talk to him, because he was just so.. So not. He was a smoker, he traveled with the wrong kids, he just did bad things. He wasn't a good influence at all.
Why the frown? Dominic ran his fingers through his hair. "Nah, I was just napping, its not big deal." Dominic smiled to reassure her that it was okay. He leaned against the door frame and intently listened to her, nodding his head as he realized what was going on here. "Ah, I see, you getting kidnapped would be a real shame, wouldn't it?" He chuckled. "Well I hate to break it to you, but I don't really have a costume. But I'll go with you, I suppose." He moved away from the door long enough to find his old worn out pair of flip-flops and then he reappeared. "And you're already an angel at heart."

Megan had pretty high expectations for herself when it came to how her life was going and what she planned to do someday, because she wanted to do so many things and to do that she knew she needed to have a pretty good head on her shoulders and for the most part she did. Her main problem was merely trying too hard to please other people; in fact that was probably even a flaw of hers actually. She was learning to change that about her, to be more confident and not so much of a pushover but that was obviously hard and she was a sweetie after all. She was meant to be sweet, but sometimes she just wished that she could be a little more out there instead of always playing by the rules because that sorta just made life boring. She hated having such a boring life sometimes, it made life dull and she was honestly trying to change that now. She wanted to be more fun, if that was even possible.
Megan liked hanging out with Dominic though, because she believed that he was fun to be around regardless of what people seemed to like to say about him. She knew all of those things and she fully believed that he would never hurt her or push her into anything so she didn’t seem to have anything to worry about when it came to that aspect. Dominic was a really nice guy, and he was also really cute in his own type of way and even though he obviously did smell she got over that and didn’t judge him. Judging people was wrong as childish as it sounded, and it was something that she just really couldn’t seem to do. It wouldn’t feel right, and Dominic was her friend and she wouldn’t just stop being his friend for anything in the world. She was very loyal to all the friends that she had, and that was a fact and besides, she could make her own choices.
When Dominic said he was merely napping she nodded her head slightly before looking down at her costume, “well if you were only napping” she said with a smile before looking back at him playing with a strand of her hair. She was also very happy that he agreed to com with her, clapping her hands to together to show her excitement before tapping her chin. “I could always work my magic and see what I can do” she laughed with a shrug; it was up to him obviously. “Thanks, I’m happy to know that I’m a known angel at heart. It makes me feel a lot better about myself” she added “and you aren’t so bad either. At least in my mind you aren’t”

I've been smoking cigarettes since I was fourteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. I've been smoking the green since nearly sixteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. Dominic was in the very middle of being open and reserved. Yes, he would talk to about anyone if they approached him, but he choose what people that he really let in. He let the people he didn't really trust in, but they only knew what he let them know. He was really more guarded that most people though. But Megan was one of the people that he didn't mind letting in, because she was trustworthy enough and he couldn't imagine her doing him wrong like so many before had.
Halloween was never a holiday Dominic had ever participated in. It wasn't a cheap one, with the candy and the costumes, so usually his mother would chip in for a small party bag of candy and Dominic would rejoice with it. Every now and then they made make shift costumes at home, like using his fathers clothing to make a hobo or something like that. He remembered sitting on the front porch of his house and watching little kids run down the street in yelling and hollering for candy. Since he had lived in a trailer park, the kids usually just walked down to one of the suburbs not to far away. It was a like a parade of costumes, and oddly enough he was never really jealous. Sometimes the thought of going up to random peoples door and asking for a candy was a bit scary, especially after he heard some stories on the news about people poisoning the candy they gave to kids.
So obviously, now that he was going with Megan, he didn't really couldn't think of any costume ideas on the spot. "Well if you want me to dress up, you'll have to find something, because I've never had a costume." He shrugged. Nothing about his life made him upset, nor was he really afraid to share it with Megan. He reach towards her and felt her costumes plush halo, "I always knew you'd make a pretty angel though," and then he stuffed his hands back into his hoodies pocket, "well you maybe believe so, but next to an angel like you I'm much more like a demon."

Megan wasn’t shy or reserved at all because she felt that she didn’t really have anything to hide, she was a sweet girl and there weren’t any secrets with that. Sure she probably trusted people more than she should but that was her own problem really and she faced getting hurt time and time again due to this, she was a naïve girl and she knew that. She had been told that many times in the past, she was just a little too trusting and she had been wronged so many times. A part of her knew that she had to stop trusting people, but that was hard and she only really hoped she could trust Dominic and she sure did think that she could.
Halloween had always been a holiday that Megan liked, because she was always one for going around and getting free candy and just really having fun. When she was younger she would go trick or treating with friends or really anyone so she always had something to do, but now it just seemed that she would go with who was ever free that night so it was never really a problem. She was happy to be going out trick or treating tonight with Dominic, because it sure seemed like he never really gone and she thought maybe it could be fun. It also meant that she could spend time with Dominic and that would be really fun to and she really wouldn’t mind that at all, she liked being with him because he was really fun to be around and though he obviously smoked she didn’t judge him. She felt that it was wrong to judge people and would talk to nearly anyone, as long as they were basically nice to her of course and normally people were pretty nice.
Megan was glad that she didn’t have to go out alone tonight, and it just seemed to be a plus that she was going out trick or treating with Dominic. Tapping her chin she thought for a moment before smiling, “you could always go as a cat” she giggled. “I have a pair of old cat ears you could probably wear, and makeup to make you look the part” she tilted her head a little bit as she thought. “Thanks by the way, I’m glad to know I look pretty as an angel and trust me Dominic. You could never be a demon” she then kissed his cheek softly, “perhaps merely an angel who’s lost their way” she added.

I've been smoking cigarettes since I was fourteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. I've been smoking the green since nearly sixteen, Just to find escape from the town that was so mean to me. Was Dominic himself trust worthy? He couldn't answer that question truthfully on his own. He was pretty sure he was, but then again he was a pot-head. He was a trouble maker, and in an out of detention. He had been arrested at least twice now for drugs, and had just finished serving parole for his last bust, and yet he still found himself smoking all the time. His mother had really stopped trusting him all together, yet she had spent so much time with his attorney trying to work out deals so he wouldn't have to spend time in jail, and yet he still used drugs. He abused his mothers hard work just for his own selfish need. So, was he really trustworthy? Could the fact that he was honest, and never the one to back-stab, replace the fact that he was a stoner?
Dominic didn't hardly give himself enough credit for the things he did. He was a nice person,he hardly talked bad about anyone unless they did so to him, of course. He had a back bone, obviously. It's not like he was going to let himself get trampled on by others. He tried not to judge others, but sometimes with the way people acted around here it was hard not to do so. He might not be quick to do so, but every now and then he was guilty of doing so. He was like a walking contradiction of his mothers morals sometimes.
A kitten? Dominic couldn't help but chuckle at that one. "Me?As a cute little kitten," he shrugged, "if you think that will work." He simply smiled at her, willing to go along with whatever. And then she was reaching up to kiss him on the cheek, and Dominic was cut off guard. As a reflex he put his hand up to touch his cheek after she kissed it, a questioning and slightly confused look on his face. "Well aren't you full of surprises tonight?" He chuckled again and peeled himself off the door frame and stepped out of his room to close the door behind him, and then turned around o face Megan again, "Well lets go!"

Megan was obviously the innocent type, as a Sweetheart I was only fit but she never really thought that any of that really mattered because she was just being herself. When people thought things about her she thought it was just stupid and silly, because she was just being herself and it was obvious that she couldn’t really try to change. It was stupid to just try and change who she is when being herself was probably the best thing, and besides she thought the people who tried so hard to please others were just not worth it. She knew her mattered to her and she was sure they would never try to change her so she didn’t have anything to really worry about, she was who she was and that was it. She liked being who she was to, she had really good friends and she hoped to have them for a while.
The only problem that Megan had was trusting the wrong people, which ended in her getting hurt in the end by someone she thought was someone who was her friend. It was obvious that was not true, and the guy really hurt her in the end so she was taking a chance by being friends with Dominic. She really did like his friendship regardless of the type of person he was, sure he wasn’t who she would normally be friends with but that didn’t matter at all to her. He was nice to her from what she knew, and he hadn’t hurt her yet. Those are the things that did matter to her, and Megan did know better. If anything happened, they would just no longer be friends and that would be the end of that.
Megan just seemed to tap her chin as she thought, “well I’d just have to run to my dorm but I think it would work and I said cat silly not a kitten. You look to old to be a kitten” she giggled chewing on the side of her thumb in habit as she thought, and when she kissed his cheek she grinned at his surprise. “You know normally guys like when a pretty girl kisses their cheek, unless you know you don’t think that I’m pretty” she said shuffling her feet a little. “In that case, then I just won’t ever do it again and that would be the end of that” she shrugged looking at him. “Yes to my dorm, and then out to rob people of their candy. My sugar rush waits” she laughed, yes Megan was a kid at heart.
